PTFE Lined Worm Gear Lug Butterfly Valve Description
PTFE Lined Worm Gear Lug Butterfly Valves deliver optimal corrosion resistance, flow control, and longevity for demanding industrial applications.
The PTFE lining provides a smooth, non-stick surface that prevents buildup and sticking of corrosive, sticky, or abrasive media. This allows the valve to be used across a wide range of chemicals, acids, powders, slurries, and other difficult fluids.
The integrated worm gear actuator enables accurate throttling control through the full range of valve movement. This allows precise regulation of flow rate and line pressure. The worm gear design also provides high actuation torque in a compact footprint.
Lug-style valve bodies allow for convenient installation, removal, and maintenance. The two-piece body design also provides leak-proof shutoff when mated properly with the PTFE liner. Multiple lug configurations are available to suit different installation requirements.
With a broad range of valve sizes from leading manufacturers, we can supply PTFE lined worm gear lug valves optimized for your specific flow rates, pressures, and piping configurations. PTFE Lined Worm Gear Lug Butterfly Valve Features:
• PTFE Lining – Provides corrosion and abrasion resistance with a smooth non-stick surface to prevent buildup and sticking. Withstands a wide range of chemicals and temperatures.
• Worm Gear Actuator – Allows precise throttling control throughout the entire range of valve movement for accurate flow regulation. High actuation torque in a compact design.
• Lug Body Style – Enables easy installation, removal, inspection and maintenance. The two-piece body seals against the PTFE liner for leak-proof shutoff.
• Bidirectional Shutoff – The disc seals in both flow directions for tight shutoff without leakage.
• Low Torque Operation – The self-lubricating PTFE lining allows the valve disc to open and close with minimal torque requirements.
• Extended Stem – Available with an extended worm gear actuator stem for insulating and isolating the actuator from high temperatures.
• Locking Device – Optional integrated lockout provision to secure the valve disc position and prevent accidental actuation.
• Range of Sizes – Offered in a variety of standard and custom sizes to handle different flow requirements.
• Wafer or Lug Styles – Suitable for wafer or lug line connections for installation flexibility.
PTFE Lined Worm Gear Lug Butterfly Valve Advantages:
• Corrosion Resistance – The PTFE lining provides exceptional chemical and corrosion resistance, allowing use with acidic, caustic, or briny fluids.
• Abrasion Resistance – The smooth PTFE liner protects the valve body against wear and abrasion from slurries, powders, or viscous fluids.
• Non-Stick Operation – The non-stick PTFE surface prevents material buildup and sticking of the valve disc. Allows reliable cycling over thousands of operations.
• Accurate Throttling – The worm gear actuator enables precise control of flow for throttling applications, with low hysteresis.
• High Torque Rating – The worm gear design provides very high actuation torque in a compact footprint. Permits operation at high pressures or viscosities.
• Low Maintenance – The self-lubricating PTFE liner minimizes service requirements. Lug style allows easy inspection or part replacement.
• Tight Shutoff – Bidirectional dead-tight shutoff when mated properly with PTFE liner for minimal leakage.
• Temperature Resistance – PTFE lining withstands temperatures from cryogenic to over 500°F. Optional extended stems for higher temps.
• Long Service Life – Durable construction with high quality components provides reliable long-term operation with minimal wear.
PTFE Lined Worm Gear Lug Butterfly Valve Applications:
• Chemical Processing – Excellent corrosion and chemical resistance for flowing acids, bases, solvents, and reactive chemicals.
• Plating Operations – Handles flowing corrosive plating solutions and baths, even at elevated temperatures.
• Mining – Controls abrasive mineral slurries and corrosive leach solutions. Throttles flow of tailings pipelines.
• Pulping – Controls fibers, corrosive bleaches, acids, and black liquor at high temps in pulp processing.
• Refining – Throttles hydrocarbons, monomers, hydrogen, acids, caustics and brines.
• Food Processing – Non-stick PTFE lining ideal for corrosive food acids and cleaning chemicals. Provides cleanability.
• Flue Gas Desulfurization – Corrosion resistance for hot acids formed in scrubber systems.
• Wastewater – Handles raw sewage, biological digestion, and corrosive treatment chemicals.
