Gate Valves, are a type of valve that opens by raising a barrier (gate) out of the fluid path. Gate valves require little space along the pipe axis and are fully
Almost never restricts fluid flow when open. The gate faces can be parallel, but are most commonly wedge-shaped (to be able to apply pressure on the sealing surface).
Gate valves are used to close the flow of liquids, not for flow regulation. When fully open, a typical gate valve has no obstructions in the flow path, resulting in very low flow resistance.
As the gate moves, the dimensions of the open flow path typically change in a non-linear fashion. This means that flow does not vary evenly with stem travel. Depending on the structure, a partially open gate vibrates due to fluid flow. Gate valves are primarily used for larger pipe diameters (from 2 inches to the largest) because they are simpler to construct than other types of larger size valves.
At high pressure, friction can become a problem. Since the gate is pushed against its guide by the pressure of the medium, it becomes more difficult to operate the valve.
Large gate valves are sometimes equipped with bypasses controlled by smaller valves to be able to reduce pressure before operating the gate valve itself. Gate valves without additional seals on the gate or seat are used in applications where minor valve leakage is not an issue, such as heating circuits or sewer lines.
GGG40
GGG40 is the most common ductile iron alloy and has a predominantly ferritic structure. Cast iron has excellent machinability with good impact resistance, electrical conductivity, high elongation and magnetic permeability. Because it is very tough, GGG40 is suitable for parts that are subjected to a lot of force: including levers, connecting rods, housings, brake shoes and connecting rods.
Name | Material |
Body | Ductile iron GGG50 with WRAS FBE coating |
Stem | Carbon steel with galvanization, SS420, SS304, SS3316 |
Wedge disc | Ductile iron GGG50 overall EPDM rubber coasting |
handle | Thin iron, ductile iron |
Wedge nut | Ductile iron, brass |
Features:
1. Ductile iron body has more stronger tensile strength, not easy to be broken up.
2. Gland on top design can replace the seal ring easily without cutting the water supply.
3. 3 “O”type ring seal can reduce the friction resistance when opening and closing.
4. Easy handling and reliable sealing.
Advantages:
1. Precision casting made by self-owned foundry with three advanced casting production lines.
2. Visualization production. From the castings, the polishing, the machining, the FBE coating, the rubber making, the assembling, the pressure testing to the finished packed valves.
3. Such great raw material for valves, as finest Q10 & Q12 cast iron GGG50; EPDM instead of normal rubber; Coating at least 300 micron with WRAS approved.
