Description

Manual Wafer Butterfly Valve  Description

Manual wafer butterfly valves are used for on/off flow control in industrial piping systems. They consist of a disc that rotates 90 degrees within the valve body to shut off or allow fluid flow. When closed, the disc seals against the valve seat, providing tight shutoff.

These valves feature lightweight, compact wafer-style designs that are easy to install between pipe flanges. They are available in sizes ranging from 2” to 24” and are constructed from stainless steel or alloy materials suitable for air, water, oil and mild chemical services.

Manual wafer butterfly valves provide reliable flow control and require minimal maintenance. They can be actuated manually using a handwheel or lever. Their tight shutoff and low torque operation make them a cost-effective solution for basic on/off flow control where automated actuation is not required.

 Manual Wafer Butterfly Valve Advantages:

• Cost-Effective – Manual valves are an economical option compared to automated control valves. No actuation costs.

• Reliable Operation – The disc and seat design provides tight shutoff when closed. Proven rugged performance.

• Low Maintenance – Manual valves have fewer moving parts and maintenance needs than automated valves.

• Easy Installation – Compact wafer design enables quick installation between pipe flanges.

• Safety – Manual actuation ensures shutoff ability even during power outages.

• Versatile Applications – Suitable for air, water, oil, chemicals. Variety of sizes and materials available.

• Low Torque Operation – Handwheel allows easy throttling and positioning of the disc.

• Tight Shutoff – Disc completely seals against seat to prevent leakage when closed.

• No Power Required – Eliminates costs and risks associated with automated valve actuation systems.

• Long Service Life – Durable stainless steel and alloy bodies withstand years of use.

• Simplified Process Control – Basic on/off control where automation is unnecessary.

 Manual Wafer Butterfly Valve applications:

• Isolation – Used to isolate sections of industrial piping systems for maintenance.

• Flow Regulation – Throttling and controlling flow rates in water lines, chemical transfer, etc.

• Pump Discharge – Control flow from pump outlets in water treatment plants, etc.

• Tank Outlet Service – Shutting off and regulating flow from storage tanks.

• Branch Line Service – Shutting off fluid supply to branch lines from main headers.

• Air Service – Used for basic on/off control of compressed air lines.

• Steam Service – Regulating low pressure steam lines.

• Fuel Service – Shutting off fuel supply lines.

• Cooling Water – Regulating flow in cooling water lines.

• Chemical Process – Controlling mild chemical flows that are non-corrosive.

• Water Systems – Flow control in municipal water and sewage treatment.

• HVAC Systems – Throttling chilled water and heating hot water flow.
